I believe there’s also one with the palm trees from the beach towel I posted up above, I just didn’t have a photo for it.
Sea Glass
My friend Abby Zweifel (previously mentioned her as Abby Henderson – Congrats Ben and Abby) designed a stripe for our spring theme “Sea Glass”. She is the original artist on this group, but I got to do the application of her art to the product shapes so I thought I’d post the group shot.
I did technically create the art for this one piece, but it’s a polka dot so not too intensive haha. But look-y it’s a glittery juice cup!
Embellished Juice Cup
That’s all for now, thanks for stopping in!
New Coir Mats
Dancing Starfish – Love love this one!
Sandal Shuffle
Day at the Beach

Reusable Bags – They will often take artwork that we’ve done for beach towels and have it put onto reusable bags as well. Another fun surprise when I go into the stores and see my art placed on a product I didn’t do the layout for!

And one of Hank (Island Oasis) that I must have missed from last season!

Sometimes artwork doesn’t get used right away for one reason or another, but it can always be brought back to life. That’s why some of my items are a surprise even for me to see coming out in stores, but a fun surprise! I loved this print too, it’s called “Pepper Tree.” The neat thing about this pretty tiered skirt is that I also drew the flat, which is not usually part of my job description. I worked on this before I became the full-time Home artist. And it was featured in the recent May 1st Mother’s Day ad! Ok sorry for all the bragging.
Coir mats (outdoor coconut mats) are now in stores, and they’re really reasonably priced too.
Island Oasis (Hank)
Umbrella Beach
Paradise Breeze
Sea Turtle Currents
Beach Walk
Paradise Flamingo
Fiesta Crab
And more Hank (Island Oasis Candle):
The Missy team also used my art from the Palm Island hand bags for t-shirts, so that was a fun surprise to see in store. So they took the original icons/elements that I drew and arranged them into t-shirt designs.

The beach towels finally came out! Some match the Palm Island handbags and flip flops, others are a part of our Tropix brand and tie into our seasonal themes like Island Oasis and Splish Splash. A few of these also were made into Tervis Tumblers that I shared on a previous post. Enjoy!

Tropix is Bealls’ outdoor brand for Home. This first group is called Island Oasis and the parrot I drew for it was affectionately nick-named Hank around the office. So look for Hank in our brand new spring program in stores now. ;) Also, just a note – the colors on the web are looking kind of yucky. It could just be my monitor, but these are definitely more pure and vibrant in real life.

The Island Oasis group went along with 2 other color coordinated themes, Oasis Stripe and Splish Splash. My good friend and college classmate from Ringling, Abby Henderson created the super cute Splish Splash group!
Splish Splash – Dinner Plate
This second group was one I actually worked on over a year ago as a freelancer. It was my first project for Bealls’ Home division. My now co-worker Lenny Brinetti actually drew the original flowers for this art group, and I was responsible for taking the print and placing the art on all the items. I had to create different options with placement and trim, as well as design how the sculptural ceramic pieces would look. It’s called Tropical Gardens and is still in stores.

Palm Island has a pretty big program for Spring at Bealls and this was the first project I was asked to work on when I first got hired in house back in April. For as many items as you see here, it’s safe to say there were at least 5 times as many prints/color-way options as you see here before the buyers narrowed it down to the final combos they wanted in stores. So a lot of work, but I’m happy with it for my first big project. :) Here you’ll see the handbags (Large, Medium and Small totes) and flip-flops, but in store you should be able to find the hats as well. Matching beach towels will be out soon, hopefully I’ll get them posted as soon as their online.

I designed the artwork on these shirts that you can find at Bealls right now and a portion of the proceeds go to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation’s efforts to study and restore damaged ecosystems and marine wildlife in the Gulf of Mexico.
These are the Juniors shirts I worked on, you can also shop for them online here: http://www.beallsflorida.com/page?name=page-shop&top=52&major=105&minor=108
And these are the Misses shirts I worked on, that you can find here: http://www.beallsflorida.com/page?name=page-shop&top=52&major=53&minor=56

These are the next pieces I did for Bealls as a freelancer last year. I was asked to create floral elements in watercolor and translate them to illustrator. The in house artists/designers then arranged these elements how they wanted them on the garment. I really like the way they arranged them on these white dolman sleeved v-necks. As a part of the Coral Bay line it’s also a nice price point. I’ve only seen two of the designs I did online, but the other two may be in stores as well. I just haven’t had a chance to check yet. Here’s the link to the online store page: http://www.beallsflorida.com/page?name=page-shop&top=52&major=53&minor=60
