I believe there’s also one with the palm trees from the beach towel I posted up above, I just didn’t have a photo for it.

Sea Glass

My friend Abby Zweifel (previously mentioned her as Abby Henderson – Congrats Ben and Abby) designed a stripe for our spring theme “Sea Glass”. She is the original artist on this group, but I got to do the application of her art to the product shapes so I thought I’d post the group shot.

I did technically create the art for this one piece, but it’s a polka dot so not too intensive haha. But look-y it’s a glittery juice cup!

Embellished Juice Cup

That’s all for now, thanks for stopping in!

Already back to Spring again! I think that this years Palm Island program came out nicely. I enjoyed working on these prints and I think I managed to take them to level higher than last years (the first project I did in house at Bealls – Palm Island 2011) These should be in stores now, and check back because I may add more images to this post as they become available to me. :)

Totes – So I created or worked on the prints that went on these tote bags and the Missy team did a great job of designing them with updated trimming and lining.  I really think it adds a nice touch!

So just like last year, some of the artwork I did for Palm Island got put onto other items like Tees.  Even  though I didn’t place the artwork in the arranged designs (I believe my friend Angie did some of that!), the original drawing/prints were created by me. Shows we really have a team effort around the office though!

So I’m really excited about a lot of the new design work I’ve been getting to do for church lately.  We have a new Lead Pastor (as you’ll see below), who has wonderful vision and passion! I’ve been helping out with the promotion materials to get the word out and I wanted to share what I’ve been working on. :D

Reusable Bags – They will often take artwork that we’ve done for beach towels and have it put onto reusable bags as well. Another fun surprise when I go into the stores and see my art placed on a product I didn’t do the layout for!

Poinsettia with Cardinal - The poinsettia program has been a continued program the last several years for Bealls.  I did not create the original artwork for the flowers, but I did draw and add in the cardinal to some of the items.  Anything you see posted here is something I created new product placement for.

These items were made by our vendors in addition to all of the ones that I designed above.  Meaning they took my original art and interpreted it on the items for us. For example the hand-painted ornaments have a bit of a different feel from my original art simply because they are a hand-painted interpretation on a round surface.

So I finally have some new things coming out for the fall and holiday season in stores! Today I’m just going to show off the fall coir mats I designed. I picked the palette and presented them all on my own to the merchants last year, and I’m quite pleased with the way they turned out. :) The internet doesn’t really do the colors justice though, so check them out when your in the store!

Oh, and something I wasn’t expecting to see is our new Ultra Soft Throws for Palm Island Home.  I didn’t work on the product development for this, but one of them featured an animal print I did back when I was freelancing. Neat!

Sometimes artwork doesn’t get used right away for one reason or another, but it can always be brought back to life.  That’s why some of my items are a surprise even for me to see coming out in stores, but a fun surprise!  I loved this print too, it’s called “Pepper Tree.”  The neat thing about this pretty tiered skirt is that I also drew the flat, which is not usually part of my job description.  I worked on this before I became the full-time Home artist. And it was featured in the recent May 1st Mother’s Day ad! Ok sorry for all the bragging.

They used some of the new stripes I did for beach towels this year for coolers as well.  I think they turned out really cute, some don’t even look like like coolers but more like hand bags!

One of the other neat parts about my job is that I sometimes get to help in the photo studio when we need to create photo packaging for our products.  Now the photographers and stylists are doing the real work in taking the photos, but I got to help art direct the look and feel for the group of items below.  The stripe on the bag was not my artwork, but if you went in stores to buy any of the Oasis Stripe coolers, you’d find that I designed the lovely packaging. :)  Here are some examples of the photos:
